  2. Dear Mr. Martucci,

My name is Adelina Patti and I am an opera singer. I read your interview and I was very pleased to learn about you. However, you do not have any artifacts posted on your blog. Hopefully, we will get to know each other better over the course of the time we will be together because I would love to learn more about your music.

As I read your interview, I noticed we have many things in common. For an example, your father inspired you to pursue music. My parents inspired me to love music as well. Both of my parents were opera singers and I grew up around the art form. Another reason we are similar is that we are both musicians who have passion for our work. Additionally, your interview concludes that you are a very talented musician. I am not intending to boast, but I am a very talented musician as well.

Even though we have many things in common, we are also very different. Obviously, you are a piano player and I am an opera singer. Additionally, you were born in Capua in Campanoia, which is a southern region of Italy. I was born in Spain. Another way we are different is that you were born in 1856 and I was born in 1843. I am approximately thirteen years older than you. Also, your father played the trumpet and was a bandmaster. My parents were both opera singers. Another example that shows we are different is that you went to Naples Conservatory when you were eleven years old. I never attended a conservatory as a child. Finally, you had a younger sister, and I had two older sisters.

I want to let you know that I highly support your work. I think that you are a very talented, and smart musician. I can also tell that you are very passionate about your art. I hope to hear some of your music sometime because you seem like a very intelligent artist.

You are a very interesting artist and I hope to hear back from you so we can continue to get to know each other.

    Sincerely,

    Adelina Patti

  3. Marticci,

So it seems THAT I AM THE ONLY ORPHAN IN THE 1800's!... I am very sorry you will have to excuse me. I just wish someone could relate to having no parents. I did not have a father to inspire me, to see me succeed. I had no mother either.

We do have some similarities. Both of us were born in Europe. Both of us had inspiring mentors who improved us.

You need to be more responsible and upload your artifacts because some of us are visual learners.

  4. I may have been uninvited to this dinner party but maybe I can continue to answer your questions.
First off I would like to correct your spelling of my name John Brougham, it is spelled Martucci, sir, not Marticci.
I am excited to know that there is another musician that can relate to me. I am sorry Signora Patti but i have little interest in Opera though I have written a few myself, such as Alma Gentil and Ballando!
